This August, Rocket City HR Consulting participated in the 2026 Alabama SHRM State Conference (ALSHRM 2026) in Fairhope, Alabama. The conference brought together HR professionals from across the state to exchange ideas, discuss workplace challenges, and strengthen the HR community that supports Alabama employers.
Our COO, Alicia Shelley, presented Preventing Mutiny on the Bounty: Creating a Culture of Smooth Sailing, a session focused on building and sustaining a positive workplace culture. Attendees learned how to identify red flags that erode employee trust and engagement, while post-session discussions centered on how HR professionals can help leaders recognize and address cultural challenges before they impact organizational performance.
Beyond the educational sessions, ALSHRM provided valuable opportunities to connect with fellow HR professionals, business leaders, and industry partners. Conversations throughout the conference highlighted several trends shaping today’s workplace, including leadership development, employee retention, workforce planning, organizational culture, and the growing role of emerging technologies, especially AI.
We extend our thanks to the ALSHRM conference committee, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for making the 2026 conference a success. We look forward to applying these insights to help organizations build compliant, productive, and people-focused workplaces.
